SINGING STUDENTS’ PRACTICAL EXAM RESULTS & ACHIEVEMENTS

Under the dedicated guidance of international music educator Ms Jin Loh, many singing students have consistently achieved exceptional results in their practical singing exams. From Trinity College London to ABRSM (UK), her students have not only scored high Distinctions but also received High Scorer Awards, proving their outstanding talent and solid vocal foundation.

Official Letter of Commendation from Trinity College London

In 2019, Ms Jin Loh received an official Letter of Commendation from Trinity College London, acknowledging her teaching efforts and the outstanding achievements of her students.

This commendation was presented because several of Ms Jin Loh’s singing students achieved remarkable results, including multiple High Scorer Awards and Outstanding Achiever recognition.

After completing her 2019 Trinity Intermediate Certificate with Distinction, Ms Jin Loh encouraged Hway Yin to skip ahead to the demanding ABRSM (UK) Grade 8 Singing Exam. With the arrival of Covid-19 in 2020–2021, many international exams were disrupted. In 2022, Hway Yin made a remarkable return, achieving ABRSM Grade 8 Distinction (132/150) and being honoured as a Global High Scorer, representing Malaysia in the 8th ABRSM Global High Scorers’ Concert among candidates from 26 countries. This rare accomplishment — achieving Distinctions and High Scorer Awards in both Trinity College London and ABRSM — demonstrates genuine vocal mastery and artistry.

Consistent high section marks across repertoire and “Performance as a whole”. Recognised as a Global High Scorer and invited to perform representing Malaysia. Strong classical technique with expressive phrasing and stylistic control (Italian repertoire included).

Achieving a Distinction in ABRSM Singing Grade 8 is already an outstanding result. What makes Hway Yin’s success remarkable is that she earned this achievement on her very first attempt, a level many students worldwide often need multiple tries just to pass.

From Exam Distinctions to International Competition Gold Prizes

While Ms Jin Loh’s students achieved remarkable exam results and High Scorer Awards in 2018–2022, from 2022 onwards, many of her singing students have become increasingly active in international music competitions. They have collectively won over 50 Gold / First Prize Awards worldwide.
